THE PROBLEM TO SOLVE:
Angie's List had a legacy of always featuring their founder, Angie Hicks, on their homepage. After HomeAdvisor's acquisition of Angie's List, my team was tasked with the challenge of designing a successfully converting homepage that did not feature Angie.
The only parameters we were given were that the category search field had to appear in the header image. Three designers each approached the challenge in different ways providing our stakeholders with multiple options. After testing our approaches against the control, they discovered that the homepage design featuring Angie still converted better than those without her likeness!
